Itinerary:


Day 1: Marrakech - Taroudant

Escaping the busy city of Marrakech in the first dayof our trip toward the Erg Chigaga Desert is an incredible experience. Bycrossing the TiziN'Test road through the verdant landscapes of the regions around Asni and Ouirgan, we reach the city of Tarodant In the heart of the Souss-Massa-Draa province.Taroudant is one of Southern Morocco’s most beautiful cities in the Anti-Atlas. Making a tour along the ramparts that contain the medina, the oldest gate, Bab El Kasbah, offers a beautiful view over the Pasha’s Kasbah and Taroudant’s gardens. A walk of a thousand fragrances, this is a great place to wait for the sunset. Passing through the N’Fis Valley, where many ancient Kasbahs stand tall, you’ll reach the Tizi N Test mountain pass (2092 m), where you’ll enjoy a jaw-dropping view. There you will discover a splendid panorama over the plain and the entire Sous Valley between the Jebel Siroua and the Ocean. In there you will spend the first night of our trip.


Day 2: Taroudant - Foum Zguid

In the second day of our journey, you wake up early to enjoy a delicious beldi breakfast on the warmth of the sunrise rays. Leaving Taroudant toward foumzguid via Talioune,taznaght is an experience full of surprising adventure and beautiful landscapes. This wild paradise is dotted with picturesque villages, with terrace plantations and vast saffron fields. You can immerse yourself in the Berber culture in the villages of Taliouine, around where you will surely fall under the charms of these secret and preserved lands and the colors of the precious spices that are grown there. Then we move to Taznaght, the capital village of rugs and carpets. In this village there are so many associations of women who are well-talented in making famous Berber carpets with its different technics of working (weaving-knotting-embroidering). In there we can have a special Berber lunch and get some rest. Later on we head to FoumZguid (mouth of the Zguid river), where a splendid camp is waiting for you to live some truly unforgettable moments like the nomadic Sahraouis. Hiking on camel backs to contemplate with the panoramic view of the sunset. You can also spend a wonderful night in a traditional tent after having a delicious dinner on the rhythm of Berber songs and dances.


Day 3: Foum Zguid - Erg Chigaga

Waking up early to enjoy the sunrise of the third day of our journey, we carry on toward Erg Chigaga passing by the ancient Iriki Lake. This beautiful drive across the desert will lead you to an immense dried up depression in the ground, relic from an era in this region. It’s an ideal destination for the desert trekking in Chegaga camp. Once you are there, you’ll discover an immense desert plateau in the middle of which stands the golden dunes of sands, a stunning vertical mountain crest.Out in the open desert under the starring sky, you can spend a night inside an adobe tent and explore the warm hospitality of the Sahraouis people who will welcome you with their native tea of Sahara and the colorful scarfs on your shoulders around.


Day 4: Erg Chigaga - Tamgrout - Zagora

Waking up early in the fifth day to contemplate into the magical sight of the sunrise over the desert’s dunes. After having a saharian breakfast, we carry on our tour through the desert to Zagora passing through Tamegroute. To visit the ancient Zaouia, the old Koranic Library is a must. Tamegroute is also known throughout the country for the expertise of its artisan potters and underground Kasbah. So don’t miss the opportunity to learn more about their local people and their customs. Next, we carry on our journey to Zagora after having lunch in Tamegroute. Under an ochre sky, the city swept by wind and sand, serves as a base camp for desert trip. It is really a pleasant stopping point on any trip through Southern Morocco. To make your desert tour a success, camel riding is an opportunity to experience the beauty of the dunes stretching out into infinity at the sunset. The loudest sound heard is just the swish of camel feet on the sand, tasting the calming and relaxing rhythm of the Desert Ships tour. Then we set foot in a desert camp that brings out the simplicity and humility of life there. The warm reception and hospitality there surpasses all expectations. There you will spend an incredible cozy night full of sweet dreams.


Day 5: Zagora - Ouarzazate - Ait Ben Haddou - Marrakech

The sixth day of our journey comes with the charming view of the sunrise and delicious varied breakfast. Later on, we head toward Aitbenhadou. Crossing the DraaValley and passing by Agdz and Ouarzazate to reach the UNESCO-listed forts &kasbahs of Ait-Ben-Haddou. It’s a symbol of the traditional Moroccan architecture with the typical Berber villages around the scenic drive through the High Atlas & the ruddy desert. In there you will spend the night in an inspiring tranquility that you have never seen.

Finally, our journey comes to its end by waking up early the next day and we take the road back to Marrakech via the TizinTichka pass.Driving safely in the womb of the High Atlas Mountains with its Berber villages on its foot drawing such a beautiful painting on reality surface.Arriving to Marrakech late at the evening to take you to your accomodations for getting a warm shower and rest.
